Managing money effectively is a challenge for many Canadians, with 35% of the population lacking any savings or investments. Only one quarter of youth feel that they understand their finances and make smart spending decisions. Springboard is focused on providing Toronto’s youth with the skills they require to practice effective money management.
Thanks to funding from TD Bank, Springboard will provide money management and financial decision making skills to help youth plan for their futures and transition into adulthood. Springboard’s new Financial Literacy program, delivered through our digital learning platform, the Community Learning HUB, will engage participants in real world financial literacy exercises, and provide an opportunity to receive one-on-one counseling. The Financial Literacy module is a creative, digitally-based training program designed for a young audience that engages youth through hands-on, play-based exercises.
Springboard’s Financial Literacy program will impact youth living in high need communities, giving them the opportunity to strengthen and apply money management skills to their everyday lives. The program will help youth transition into adulthood and encourage them to think about improving their social and economic well-being.
