Springboard's ICWP embraces the principles of restorative justice by providing adult men serving intermittent sentences an opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer work as an alternative to spending weekends in jail. This province-wide reintegration program is funded by the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services.
Toronto, London and Ottawa programs provide substance use programming and community work placement for eligible offenders convicted of impaired driving-related offences and serving intermittent sentences on weekends.

What the participants are saying:
“This was an excellent alternative to jail. I was very fortunate to be accepted into the program. ICWP staff were fantastic and very helpful as well as understanding.”
“I think the program was a great idea. I’m really glad this was in place instead of having to be in custody for the whole weekend.”
“This is a partnership that works well. We have met many well-meaning people who genuinely care about the animals and have done good work giving back. We are glad for the help, and are happy to provide a place where clients can come and accomplish something meaningful, too.” – Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary, Kemptville. Ontario
